LHS softball defeats North Miami 14-3 Logansport was led by senior Natalee Packard in a victory over the North Miami Warriors. Packard threw 5 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hit while striking out 7. Packard also had 3 hit and 2 RBIs in the win. The Lady Berries fell behind early after North Miami jumped out to a 2 run lead after the first inning. The Lady Berries answered back with 7 runs in the top of the second. Packard led off with a single. Mady Baumgardner walked to put runners on first and second. Lucy Gordon singles to center to score Packard. Kate Spradling's RBI ground out scores Baumgardner. Gordon scores on a wild pitch. Rylinn Spradling doubles to left with two outs. Kellyn Cripe doubled in R. Spradling for a 5 -2 lead. RBI singles by Risley and Bell Nicoles give the Lady Berries a 7-2 lead. The Lady Berries scored three more in the 4th inning. Risley doubled to right center. Packard RBI single scores Risley. Adrienne doubled off the centerfield wall, scoring Packard. Baumgardner walked. Gordon doubled in two more runs with a line drive to right center. Logansport finished off the scoring in the top of the 5th. R. Spradling singles to left. Cripe bunt single puts runners at first and second. With runners at second and third, Nicoles drives in R. Spradling and Cripe with a single up the middle. Pinch runner Amilia Zaragoza scores on Scott's single to left to give the Berries a 14-2 lead. The Lady Berry offense was led by three hit performances by Packard and Scott. Cripe, Risley, Nicoles, Gordon and R. Spradling had two hits each. Nicoles and Gordon drove in 3 runs apiece. The Lady Berries are now 8-1 on the season and will play at Harrison this Thursday at 5:30.
