LHS Softball defeats Winamac 12-2 Logansport Lady Berries defeats Winamac behind a strong pitching performance and timely hitting. Freshman Mady Baumgardner picked up the win in her second start of the year. Baumgardner held the Lady Warriors to 2 runs (1 earned) on four hits, while striking out 3 in 5 innings of work. Logansport grabbed an early 1-0 lead after Kellyn Cripe led off the game with a triple to right center. Cripe later scored on an RBI ground out by Gracie Risley. Winamac answered back scoring 2 runs in the top of the second for a 2-1 lead. That is all the runs the Warriors would get the rest of the way, because Baumgardner shut the Warriors down the rest of the game. Logansport answered back in the bottom the third. Rylinn Spradling led off with an infield single to short. Spradling advances to second on a hit and run ground out by Cripe; Risley hits an infield single to third base. Bell Nicoles hits a hard groundball to left scoring Spradling. Natalee Packard smokes a line drive double to left to score two more runs. Adrienne Scott bounces a single to center putting runners at the corners. Packard scores on an stolen base by Scott making the score 6-2. Cripe led off the bottom of the fourth with a line drive to left. Risley follows with a line drive triple down the right field line scoring Cripe. Nicoles stroke a RBI single to left. Packard doubled on a fly ball to left scoring pinch runner Amilia Zaragoza. Scott singles pushing Packard to third. Bianca Cortez ground ball single scores both Packard and Scott. Taegan Wolf doubles down the left field line to give the Lady Berries a 12-2 lead. Wolf closes out the game with another stellar defensive play, running down a fly ball and crashing into the fence. Logansport was led by Cripe, Risley, Nicoles, Packard, Scott and Cortez all collecting two hits apiece. Wolf, Lucy Gordon, and R. Spradling had one hit each. Risley, Nicoles, Packard and Cortez knocked in multiple runs each.
