Logansport High School

LHS softball defeats Caston 14-0 Logansport jumped out to an early 2-0 lead against Caston. With two outs in the top of the first, Bell Nicoles and Natalee Packard reached on separate Caston errors. With runners a second and third Adrienne Scott lined a single to right to score two runs. That is all the runs Logansport would need as sophomore Brooklynn Hagerty completely shut down the Caston offense. The right hander threw a perfect game only allowing one ball to be put in play in 5 innings of work. Hagerty struck out fourteen Comet hitters to pick up the win for the Lady Berries. Logansport went back to work offensively picking up one run in the second. Gracie Risley walked with one out. Nicoles double to right to give the Lady Berries a 3-0 lead. Scott led off the third inning with a line drive to left. Hagerty hit a groundball to center. A Caston error allowed Scott to score and Hagerty to advance to third. Bianca Cortez reaches on a fielder's choice. Lucy Gordon walked. Cortez scored on a wild pitch. Rylinn Spradling walked to put runners at first and second. Kellyn Cripe hit an RBI single to right to score Gordon. Risley hits a two RBI single to center. Nicoles hits an RBI single to left. Natalee Packard doubles over the leftfielder's head to score Risley and Nicoles. Scott lines a single to right fielder scores Packard. Hagerty follows with a walk. Cortez singles to left to score Scott. R. Spradling singles to score Cortez to give the Lady Berries a 13-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, Logansport scored again. Cortez led off with a double. Teagan Wolf walked. Spradling hit an RBI single to cap off the scoring at 14 runs. The Lady Berry offense was led by Scott, who went 3 for 3 with a stolen base, 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Nicoles, Cortez, and Spradling each had two hits. Also collecting one hit each were, Cripe, Risley, Mya Hershberger, Packard, and Hagerty.
